2010 has brought new rates for the MTLP and Green Card insurance. Thus according to the Decision of the National Commission of Financial Market No. 53 / 5 of October 31, 2008 “ regarding the establishment of the basic insurance premium and the value of correction coefficients related compulsory motor liability , new insurance rates took effect from January 1, 2010. As for the MTPL insurance , drivers will pay higher insurance premiums than the previous year, rates being calculated from the base premium which consists  500 lei. The price of the policy depends on driver’s age and work experience. Thus the person who has driving experience  more than two years, will get the insurance policy at a price of about. 11% less than drivers who have not reached that age. Persons  who have passed the age of 23 years have the same benefits paying lower insurance premiums . GREEN CARD rates for Ukraine, Belarus and Russian Federation remained unchanged, being increased those for Europe (all countries of  Green Card system). For a minimum policy of 15 days in Europe, will be paid a sum of about. 21% higher than the previous year.
